Prevailing Light is a song of hope and resilience, dedicated to the students of all ages who adapted to the extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. This work illustrates the perseverance that students exhibited throughout the affected school years through its optimistic and empowering tone. A bouncy ostinato appears throughout the piece, switching roles between melody and accompaniment, which represents the constant passage of time as society begins to move forward in the face of adversity.
